Not Hero Splendor, but this bike is highest selling bike in India

Hero HF Deluxe outsold Hero Splendor in the month of July 2019 and that too by a huge margin

When it comes to the top seller in Hero’s lineup, the Splendor always seems to trump in almost every month since time immemorial. I was going through the sales figures in Hero’s portfolio and found something interesting. Every month, we get to see that Splendor is the best selling motorcycle and Honda Activa is the best selling scooter.

The words about the Activa is true, it is the highest-selling two-wheeler in the country with 2,43,604 units in July 2019. Hero Splendor, on the other hand, saw a fall of 50% YoY to 1,30,333 units from 2,60,865 (includes super splendor 125) units. When you look at the numbers achieved by HF Deluxe you’ll realize why it is the highest-selling motorcycle in the Indian market.

Hero HF Deluxe suffered just 8% degrowth to 1,69,632 units from 1,83,694 units last year. HF Deluxe is officially the largest selling motorcycle in India in the month of July 2019. However, you can say the Hero Splendor is the highest-selling MOTORCYCLE BRAND in the country with a cumulative sale of 1,78,907 units. The Splendor brand includes 100cc Splendor Pro, 110cc Splendor iSmart, and 125cc Super Splendor.

If you ask why people are shifting towards cheaper HF Deluxe from the more Upmarket Splendor? There are quite a few reasons behind this with first being that people are not getting cheaper loans due to which the market has fallen into a slump. Those who are in real need of updating their ride, they are going for basic models to fulfill their immediate requirements. Thus the sales of cheaper bikes are consistent with the market slump.

However, the government has done some stimulus to create demand in the suto sector. It has infused fresh funds into the financial system which would ensure proper liquidity and in turn cheaper and more loans. We also expect a greater boost in the festive season which will start in October 2019.
