You can watch the video below which shows the fatality of the crash. Just before the crash, the rear tyre lifted up and turned towards the left side. When the bike landed, the rear tyre received forceful traction which made the rear of the bike to propel towards the right side thereby rotating the bike and causing the loss of control. Paulo Goncalves was lifted in the air due to the sudden rotation of bike and he hit the ground with neck first.

This lower rear part of the head and neck collision might have proved fatal for Paulo. The 40-year old rider was then resuscitated at the spot then taken to the Lyla Hospital via emergency medical Helicopter where upon arrival was pronounced dead.
