KTM is one of premium motorcycle manufacturer which brought us some exciting products at an affordable price, here are upcoming KTM bikes in India which will take the game further
KTM is on a roll, they are gearing up to launch few more international models in India. I brought you a list of upcoming KTM bikes in India which will launch in this year and in 2020 as well.
KTM RC 125
First in the list is the RC 125. As you all know that KTM’s experiment of bringing in Duke 125 has been successful so far. The baby duke was launched at a price of Rs 1.18 lakh ex-showroom in December 2018. The Duke 125 is selling like hot cake in India peaking around 3000 units per month.
The Austrian company has now decided to launch another variant of 125cc engine. KTM RC 125 will become the cheapest RC to go on sale in the country. Designwise, the bike looks exact copy of RC 200 which is priced at Rs 1.88 lakh ex-showroom. The Indian version of RC 125 will sport an underbelly exhaust instead of a side-mounted one which is available in international markets.

Powering RC 125 will be the same 125cc engine from Duke 125. The powerplant belts out 14.3 bhp and 12 Nm torque which seems low on paper but outperforms most of the 160cc bike in the country. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
Expected Launch: June 2019
Expected Price: Rs 1.4 lakh ex-showroom
KTM 390 Adventure
Here we come again on the Adventure side of KTM. The 390 Adventure motorcycle has been spotted testing countless times on the Indian roads. It is not yet known when the much-anticipated Adventure motorcycle will be launched in the Indian market. KTM 390 Adventure will be the most powerful, sophisticated, and feature-packed Adventure Tourer under 5 lakh bracket.
KTM 390 ADV will derive power from the same 373cc engine which does duty on the Duke and RC 390. The powerplant pumps out massive 43.5 bhp and 37 Nm of twisting force. This much power is enough to propel these KTMs to 100 kmph from 0 in 6 seconds. The company will tune the engine in a way so that it will be easier for a bike to tackle all kind of terrains.

I’m expecting that KTM will price it in the range of Rs 2.6 lakh to Rs 2.8 lakh ex-showroom. 390 Adventure will be as much powerful as recently launched Benelli TRK 502X. This is because TRk weighs in as much as 235 kg while 390 ADV will weight around 175 kg with all bells and whistles.
Expected Launch: Late 2019
Expected Price: Rs 2.7 lakh ex-showroom
Next Generation KTM RC 390
It’s been quite a time since RC 390 is present in the market. So, obviously, the Austrian bike maker needs an update. This is what seems to be happening now, a few spy images of new RC 390 testing have gone on the internet.
Even the headlights are completely new units. You can even spot a new disc rotor and maybe the calipers are also upgraded. Speaking of the engine, there will be changes made to increase the performance of the bike. Engine Head, Exhaust manifold, exhaust muffler are some components which will be redesigned to meet tougher emission norms.

It is expected that next-generation RC 390 might come equipped with a new age color TFT instrument cluster like the one we see on current-gen Duke 390. The fairing of the RC 390 is completely revised and looks fresh. The bike is expected to be showcased in 2019 EICMA.
Expected Launch: Year 2020
Expected Price: Rs 2.5 lakh ex-showroom
KTM 790 Duke
Moving on to the next bike on our list which is a sure rocket on the road. KTM is gearing up to launch its middleweight bike 790 Duke in the Indian market.
Powering 790 Duke is a parallel-twin, liquid-cooled, 799cc engine with an 8-valve DOHC head. This powerplant churns out staggering 103 bhp at 9500 rpm and 86 Nm of torque at 8000 rpm. The LC8 motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a two-way quick-shifter.
It will be brought to the Indian shores via CKD route instead of local manufacturing as it will require to set up a vendor base which requires a lot of time and money. Small components like headlight, levers, and cables will be sourced locally.
Duke 790 will take on the likes of Suzuki GSX S750 (Rs 7.46 lakh) and Kawasaki Z900 (Rs 7.68 lakh) as well as CBR 650R which is priced at Rs 7.7 lakh ex-showroom.
Expected Launch: Mid 2019
Expected Price: Rs 7.5 lakh ex-showroom
KTM 790 Adventure
According to the latest reports, KTM is planning to introduce a larger Adventure Tourer in India apart from 390 Adventure. The Austrian bike maker is currently in the testing phase of its 790 Adventure series of bikes for the international markets. You can read our article about 790 ADV Here.
KTM 790 Adventure is also powered by a 799cc engine albeit in a different state of tune. This motor makes 95 bhp at 8000 rpm and 88 Nm at 6600 rpm. You can see that power is reduced and the torque is increased. Also, the engine rpm has been reduced in order to get as much torque early in the rev range.
