KTM RC 125 will become the most affordable RC in the country

After finding success from 125 Duke, the Austrian company is gearing up to launch KTM RC 125 in the fall June 2019. The deliveries of baby RC to commence from July onwards. Yamaha R15 V3.0 will be the main contender in this segment.

There will be few changes made to the India-spec RC 125. The bike will get an underbelly exhaust rather than a side mounted one. This move is bound to save some bucks for us Indians. Other things among the changes will be saree guard and extra rear mudguard. Expect to get a different color scheme than the international version.

The overall design language is similar to that of RC 200. Basically, it is the body of RC 200 with the heart of Duke 125. There are two projector lamps and we expect to see LEDs instead of regular halogen bulbs. A multifunction display (in KTM’s terms) will make up for instrument cluster. The display gives out a plethora of information to the rider.

Powering the RC 125 will be the same 125cc engine which does duty on Duke 125. The 4-valve engine churns out 14.3bhp at 9250rpm and 12Nm torque which peaks out at 8000rpm. A 6-speed transmission transfer power to the rear wheel.

The main point to ponder is the pricing of KTM RC 125. We expect it to carry a sticker price of around Rs 1.45 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh. Even this price cannot dethrone Yamaha’s more powerful R15 V3.0 as it is priced at Rs 1.39 lakh ex-showroom. In order to lead the game, KTM needs to keep the price even lower. We’ll get to see in the coming month

This guy here is one such animal who loves two wheels more than "Maa ke hath ka Khana." Not yet fully transformed into a seasoned rider but still, there are many things still "under construction." Akash is a writer, loves writing fiction but here at motorcycle diaries, its all about the world on two wheels.
