KTM 125 Duke is now priced at Rs 1.32 lakh and RC 125 at Rs 1.49 lakh

The Austrian sports bike manufacturer, KTM has once again hiked the price of Duke 125 naked bike in India. This is the third price hike within a period of 10 months. KTM 125 Duke was launched for Rs 1.18 lakh ex-showroom and after two price hikes, the price became Rs 1.30 lakh. Now the third hike is about Rs 2,248 which brought the ex-showroom price to Rs 1,32,500. KTM RC 125, on the other hand, receives a hike of Rs 1537 which brings its price to Rs 1,48,750 (~Rs 1.49 lakh). The company said that this was done to increase the dealer margin.

KTM is riding on the success on Duke 125 in the Indian market and that’s why the company has decided to mint cash out of the model. In the month of July, a total of 2225 units of Duke 125 moved out of the showrooms. With an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.30 lakh, KTM minted about Rs 29 Crores of revenue just from a single model. This was made possible by the madness of Duke 200 among the Indian enthusiasts.

Powering the Duke 125 and RC 125 is same 124.5cc liquid-cooled engine with 4-valve head. This powerplant makes 14.3 bhp and 12Nm torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and propels the bikes from 0 to 100 kmph in about 17 seconds. The top speed of Duke is around 115 kmph while RC can hit 120 kmph on open roads. Both the bikes shares everything else like frame, suspension and tyres from their elder siblings, DUke 200 and RC 200.

Next from the house of KTM will come to 790 DUke (need to be launched officially), Adventure 390 and Adventure 250 aong with a new premium Husqvarna brand. The Husqvarna is expected to make India entry by early 2020 with BS6 engines.
