After conquering Bangalore, the electric scooters maker have set Chennai and Pune as their next target

Ather Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer, is at the forefront of electric vehicle technology in India. The company currently has two electric scooters in their portfolio, 340 and 450, and at the moment, electric scooters are available only in its home city of Bangalore. However, that is all set to change as the company is gearing to expand into other cities.

Ather already made it clear that they will set up their own Electric Vehicle charging infrastructure, also known as AtherGrid, in every city they plan to enter and sell their products. This is one of the main reason why it is taking a lot of time for the company to expand into other cities. Moreover, in a recent post on social media, Atehr confirmed that they are on track with their expansion plans into Chennai and Pune by the second half of 2019. Although there are no fixed dates available yet, the post also mentions that Hyderabad and Delhi will follow by early next year.

Co-founder and CEO of the company, Tarun Mehta, also posted a picture of a warehouse filled with a number of Ather scooters which are ready for delivery. He mentions that the company has ramped up production and that they are running out of space for the final product inventory. This is meant to come as a relief to those who are waiting for deliveries.

presently, Atehr is only accepting pre-orders in Bangalore, and Karnataka is the only state where Ather electric scooters can be registered in. The 340 costs Rs 1.15 lakh and the 450 will set you back Rs 1.30 lakh (on-road, Bangalore).
