Ather Energy is an electric mobility startup based in Bangalore, Karnataka. The company has launched its first electric scooter 450 in its hometown ie Bangalore. For the past few months, the company is planning to expand its presence in other cities. So here they came up in Chennai, the capital city of Tamil Nadu. Ather 450 Chennai price is Rs 1.31 lakh on-road.

Ather 450 is the flagship product of Ather and has a realistic range of around 70-75 km per charge in the ride mode. In the sport mode, you will get somewhere around 60 km per full charge. The scooter gets its propulsion force from the 5.4 kW motor which sits below the underseat storage. A belt drive is used to transfer power to the rear tyre.

The company has been working on setting up of Ather Grid, company’s own public charging infrastructure, from last two months. A fact must be noted down that the Ather 450 Chennai price is Rs 8,000 more than that of Bangalore. You can book Ather 450 in Chennai for a token amount of Rs 5,000.

Speaking about the deliveries, the first batch will be dispatched in September 2019 and next two batches in November and December 2019. After that regular delivery will start from February 2020. The company has a target of 1 lakh unit sales by 2021.

With enough number of charging stations in multiple locations, Chennai is actually ready for accepting Ather 450. At Rs 1.31 lakh, the 450 is nearly double the price than a 125cc automatic scooter in the country. However, the lower running cost will help make up that extra cost in the years to come. After Chennai, Ather has plans to enter Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Pune by 2021.

At present, there is no direct rival to Ather 450 but if Tork and Revolt expand their presence in the country, then Ather will face some heat.
