Ducati is working on an electric motorcycle but first, they are planning to launch an electric scooter

The news of Ducati Electric Scooter is quite surprising as the Italian manufacturer deals with motorcycles only. Ducati has signed a licensing deal with Chinese electric scooter manufacturer Vmoto to manufacture electric scooter for Ducati.

Vmoto currently has CUx electric scooter which is sold under the brand of Super Soco in China. Ducati will receive this particular scooter from Vmoto with a Ducati badge. Thus, this partnership will make CUx, an official electric scooter under the brand name of Ducati.

Vmoto says that the present variant of CUx will not be manufactured for Ducati. Rather a luxurious variant of CUx will be designed and manufactured, thereby asking a premium price for the added feature. It is not yet known what extra features will be provided on this scooter.

The Ducati electric scooter will be sold via existing dealer network of Vmoto but the marketing will be handled by the Italian bike maker itself. CUx is available in four color options – Red (Ducati special), White, Grey, and Black.

What I did not find exciting is, CUx, even in luxurious version will have a top speed of just 45 kmph. Power is supplied by a 1.8 kWh battery pack. This battery pack is rated at 60 Volts and 30 Ah capacity. CUx provides a range of 75 km in a full charge.

Speaking about the features of this electric scooter, it has full LED headlight and taillight assembly. It gets a smart fully digital instrument panel with various readouts. There is added a=safety on the scooter with Electric Assisted Brakes which helps the EV to stop in a controlled matter on both dry and wet roads.

See, there are a lot of things to look at, but you are one hell of a person when your eyes are pulled towards beauty on two wheels. This guy here is one such animal who loves two wheels more than "Maa ke hath ka Khana." Not yet fully transformed into a seasoned rider but still, there are many things still "under construction." Akash is a writer, loves writing fiction but here at motorcycle diaries, its all about the world on two wheels.
