Royal Enfield 650 twins include a new-retro roadster and a café racer sharing the same engine and chassis.
Royal Enfield 650 twins are gearing up for their grand India launch on November 14, 2018. Already available in couple of global markets, the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 come sharing same chassis and engine. Both the motorcycles will be priced aggressively for surer and they are expected to boost the brand’s sales performance significantly in coming days. We can expect these two models to be priced between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom).
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 comes as a neo-retro roadster with unique design. It blends the modern features with timeless retro styling language. A circular headlamp, roundish fuel tank, wide handlebar, retro themed seats, multi-spoke wheels and plenty of chrome garnishing add zing to this model.
On the other hand, the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 is the new flagship model of the brand that features same design as the outgoing Continental GT. The modern classic café racer comes with round headlamp, a tear-drop fuel tank, clip on handlebars and a typical café racer single rider seat. Both the motorcycles boast 18-inch wire-spoke wheels wrapped with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres.
Speaking about the power source of the Royal Enfield 650 twins, the motorcycle get energy from a 648cc oil-cooled, parallel-twin cylinder, SOHC engine that is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slip assist clutch. This engine is capable of churning out 47 bhp of power output at 7,100 rpm and 52 Nm of torque output at 5,200 rpm.
