A total of 1888 units of Bajaj Dominar 400 were sold in May 2019
Bajaj updated its flagship product Dominar 400 for 2019 with a host of updates. The new bike found 1888 homes in the month of May 2019 which is 58% higher than the previous year number in the same month. This number is, in fact, lower than what Bajaj sold in March-April 2017 which were above 2500 units mark.
The new 2019 Bajaj Dominar 400 now makes 39.5bhp of power than 34.5bhp in the previous iteration. however, the torque output remained the same at 35Nm which is not less by any means. The bike features Showa USD forks from Duke 390 which increases the suspension feedback while hyper-riding.
373cc engine, which also propels Duke and RC 390, now sport dual over-head cam train. In addition to that, the compression ratio is also bumped up to 12:1, translating into higher power output. With these changes, the engine was expected to run hotter, so the size of the radiator is also increased to cool the things down.

The previous bike had a bad reputation in terms of NVH levels. This particular problem hindered its sales as touring demands a vibe-free motor. New Dominar 400 has solved this problem and the bike now runs smoother than ever before.
Speaking about the brakes, 2019 Dominar comes with a radially mounted caliper at the front. This has increased the braking feedback and hence the rider will be safer around the corners. At the rear end, there is a 220 mm disc with regular floating caliper gripping it. A dual-channel ABS avoids tyres from giving away under hard braking. Ride quality of the bike is increased thanks to the retuned suspensions at both ends.

Now, Dominar does 0 to 100 kmph in just 7 seconds which is half second better than the older version. This is one bike which can easily tour at 120-130 kmph all day long. Bajaj has finally made it into the sales charts. It is yet to see how new Dominar performs in the rest of year 2019.
