Pre-bookings for 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R already commenced months back
Kawasaki twitted “Geared up to Debut with Price Revelation” on 15th January 2019. And now Kawasaki has finally launched the 2019 ZX6R motorcycle at a price of Rs 10.49 Lakh. It will be assembled at Kawasaki’s Chakan plant in Pune, Maharashtra.
Powering this Kwaker is a 636 cc inline four-cylinder, 16-valve Engine. Coupled with a sleek shifting 6-speed gearbox, this motorcycle is now complaint with euro-5 emission norms.
ZX6R boasts a lot of electronic features like KIBS which means Kawasaki Intelligent Anti-Lock Braking System, KTRC which designate for Kawasaki Traction Control, KQS which is Kawasaki Quick Shifter for ultra-fast gearshifts and LED lights all around.
Zx6R received an update to the instrument console as well. The needle turns from white to pink to red indicating when you need to upshift. You can now set the shifting rpm from as low as 6500 rpm. Digital display shows everything you would expect from this Kwaker, certainly not your heart-beat though.
Comparing with outgoing model 2019 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R has seen a minor power drop and a marginal increase in weight. In order to meet stricter emission norms, power has been dropped by 1 bhp. The bike has gained 2 Kg due to a heavier catalytic converter. The rated top speed of 248 kmph is also lower than the previous model which maxed out at 260 kmph.
This 636 cc motorcycle will be assembled in India which has brought down the cost when compared to CBU price as it attracts beefy custom duties. Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R is first proper 600 cc super-sports to have launched in India. Please remember Honda CBR 650F is a sports tourer. It has a big fan following and currently has no rivals.
Kawasaki launched the Indian assembled ZX10R at Rs 12.8 lakh which was Rs 6 Lakh lesser than its CBU counterpart. ely Bringing a bike in India via CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route always keeps the costs down by a considerable margin.
