Powering the Hero XPulse 200 is the same 200cc engine which does duty on Xtreme 200R. You can expect a little more engine tuning to suit the needs of an Adventure tourer. Fueling will be controlled by an electronic fuel injection system. The final gearing can be a little shorter to deal with the toughest terrain. XPulse 200 will have 5-speed gearbox, again same as that of Xtreme 200R.

Speaking out the suspension, there will be longer travel telescopic forks up front and longer travel monoshock at the rear end. We expect travel of around 200 mm both suspension. The braking will be handled by disc brakes at both ends. The ABS will work only on the front wheel to keep the costs in check. Instrument cluster will be an all-digital unit with Bluetooth connectivity.

The bike will ride on a 21-inch wheel at the front and 17-inch rear wheel. Tyres used will be dual-purpose so that one can use the bike both on and off the road. Alloy wheels will remain absent due to the obvious reason for impact absorption. Engine bash plate is expected to come as a standard fitment to protect the engine from stone, gravel or other heavy impacts.

Hero will also launch a road biased variant of XPulse 200 called XPulse 200T. This bike will have both 17-inch wheels shod with road going tyres. Alloy wheels with tubeless tyres will do the gripping duties.

Hero XPulse 200 launch price is expected to be anywhere between Rs 1.1 to Rs 1.2 lakh ex-showroom. 200T, on the other hand, will be a bit affordable than off-roader XPulse 200. The other adventure motorcycle is Royal Enfield Himalayan 400. There are good chances that sales of Himalayan 400 will get affected.
