Harley Davidson Electra Glide Standard will launch in India in 3rd Quarter of 2019
With all the essentials of touring, Harley Davidson Electra Glide has been unveiled. There is a pretty high chance that this barebone tourer will launch in India later this year. You know what, a typical Harley Davidson motorcycle is full of Chrome, tons of gadgetry, and are terribly loud. But this time, in my opinion, the company is taking a detour in the form of Electra Glide Standard.
In the US market, his toned-down motorcycle carries a price tag of $18,999. If we convert this price into INR, it comes out to be Rs 13.31 Lakh. The Price in India will surely cross Rs 20 Lakh Mark. Because this price is excluding import duties and taxes.

107 cubic inches (1753 cc) Milwaukee Eight V-Twin Engine powers Harley Davidson Electra Glide Standard. This beast of a motor pumps out hefty 150 Nm of Torque at 3,250 rpm. The company, as usual, have kept its power figure hidden (because typical power figures are quite low). But we can expect 100 bhp from this powerplant.
A 6-speed gearbox and hydraulically actuated Assist-and-Slip Clutch transfer power to the rear wheel. Dual 320 mm floating Discs at the front end and 320 mm fixed rotor at the rear, each with four-piston calipers help in bringing the bike to halt. If launched in India ABS will have to be mandatory while in the international version, ABS is optional.

“To express the stripped-back essence of the Electra Glide Standard we focused on finishes that were simple, timeless, and fundamental to the Harley-Davidson’s touring line. Chrome was added to key components and complimented by polished and blacked out parts”, commented Brad Richards, vice president, Styling & Design, Harley-Davidson.
2019 Electra Glide features a massive batwing fairing cum windshield. There are saddle bags which will come as standard fitment. Chrome trim and cast aluminum alloy wheels are also available. Chrome Polish is done on these components – Rocker, Cam, and Derby Covers. Some components are blacked out which increases the visual appeal of the bike.
Additional features include Standard Cruise Control, Hand-Adjustable emulsion-Tech rear shock absorbers, 49 mm front Telescopic Forks with Showa Dual bending valve suspension. Reflex Linked Brembo Brakes ABS is available as an option.
