New Bajaj Platina 100 KS CBS is Rs 7000 lower than the Electric Start variant

Pune based Bajaj Auto has launched the Platina 100 KS CBS at a price tag of Rs 40,500. Here KS stands for Kick Start, and the bike is Rs 6900 cheaper than the Electric Start variant Platina 100 ES. Only one week is left when all the bikes which do not comply with the safety norms will become illegal to sell after 31st March 2019.

At present, Bajaj has listed Platina 100 ES on their website. This Platina 100 KS CBS is yet to be added to the website. On the other hand, Platina 100 ES is priced at Rs 47,405 ex-showroom, Delhi. With self start removed, Platina 100 KS CBS is Rs 6905 cheaper than the ES variant. This made the Platina 100 KS CBS come closer to Bajaj’s most affordable motorcycle, the CT100. Bajaj CT100 is priced from Rs 32,000 all the way to Rs 40,883. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

Powering the Platina 100 KS CBS is a 102cc air-cooled, single cylinder engine. The 2-valve motor develops 7.9 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a torque of 8.3 Nm is developed at 5,500 rpm. An all-down 4-speed gearbox transmits power to the rear tyre.

Speaking about the suspension, the Platina 100 KS CBS gets telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorber at the rear with comfortec technology. This technology has two springs (one soft and one hard) within each other. This ensures better shock absorption on and off the road. Braking duties are performed by Drum brakes on both the ends.
