TVS has updated its flagship motorcycle, 2019 Apache RR310 and now it is better than before
India’s third largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, TVS has launched its flagship bike 2019 TVS Apache RR310 with a slipper clutch. The bike also received a new paint scheme which is metallic black. Previously bike had a matt black paint scheme. It is the first time the track bike has received a striking metallic black color option.
In terms of design, nothing has changed in the bike. There are few decals here and there which makes the bike look appealing. The RR310 continue to sport a dual projector headlight assembly with LED lighting.
The only thing you need to know
It is that the 2019 TVS Apache RR310 gets a Race Tuned Slipper Clutch which has increased the price by around Rs 4000. Now the updated price is Rs 2.27 lakh ex-showroom. That said, if you have an old RR310, you can go to nearest TVS service center and retrofit the slipper clutch for Rs 4000.
With the addition of slipper clutch, the clutch lever feels lighter which will help you in heavy stop and go traffic. The company claims that the new clutch will slightly increase the acceleration of the bike. Anyways, the slipper clutch works very well on the race track as you can downshift rapidly without locking up the rear tyre.
Rest all remains as they were before
Powering the Apache RR310 is the same single-cylinder, 310cc, 4-valve, liquid-cooled engine. This powerplant churns out 33.5bhp at 9700rpm and 27.3Nm of twisting force at 7700rpm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox via a slipper clutch
Apache RR310 is one such bike which is a great handling track machine as well as a comfortable sports tourer. I mean you can go for long rides without worrying much about your wrists and back.
