Benelli 752S is a fantastic looking naked street machine which was just uncovered by the brand. With the competition heating up in the naked middleweight category, 752S sits at the prettier and hopefully the price efficient end. Okay there is nothing hinting it coming to our shores yet, but this will be an excellent option as a classy looking naked. The market already has a lot of options, but there still is a sweet spot near the Rs 5lakh bracket. And if Benelli could price a four cylinder TNT 600i near that, 752S can replace it easily with further price slash due to lesser engine manufacturing complexity.
Considering Benelli 752S technical bits, it has a liquid cooled parallel twin putting out 80bhp of power and 67Nm of torque. The sound quality that Benelli motorcycles produce is just astounding. In fact most buyers would have just signed checks after a short test ride, it sounds that good! A 6-speed transmission as usual will translate power to the rear wheel. The fuel injected engine has double throttle body, for better efficiency figures. Benelli claims a solid 20kmpl from the twin. And since it is a parallel twin, low and mid torque delivery should be more than you can ask for.
Benelli 752S has a trellis steel frame, which has proved good for handling but does look aged now, not a fan. But it still is heavy at 220kg dry. They have to compromise weight savings on account of lesser pricing, but this is getting irritating now. Making it lighter will improve dynamics no end. Braking should be better now with 320mm twin discs up front and a 260mm disc at the rear wheel. And since it has Pirelli Angel GT, 120mm and 180mm respectively, you’ll get more mileage and better braking on multiple surfaces. Of course all of this goes to waste if Benelli skips India off the retail list, go tweet about it and rant on social media compelling them to sell it here.
