New Yamaha R15 V3 BS6 develops 18.5bhp, down from 19.1bhp
Yamaha R15 V3 BS6 has been launched by the Japanese company. The new R15 V3 BS6 receives a price hike of about Rs 4500 on the entire variants. Pricing has been decided on the basis on colour scheme. The base Thunder Grey is priced at Rs 1.45 lakh, Racing Blue will set you back by Rs 1.46 lakh and Darknight colour carries a price tag of Rs 1.47 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
Cosmetically the entire bike is same as before save for the new Racing blue colour with blue alloy wheels. Thunder Grey colour has gestures of Red on the fairing. Blacknight, on the other hand, is the completely blacked out colour variant of the sports bike.

Mechanicals is where things have changed a lot. The new BS6 powerplant is same old 155cc liquid-cooled engine but now develops lesser power than before. This engine now outputs about 18.5bhp 10,000rpm and 14.1Nm torque at 8,500rpm. R15 V3 in the BS4 disguise pumped out rather high 19.1bhp and 14.7Nm twisting force. The engine continues to work with a 6-speed gearbox.
With Yamaha already launched the FZ15 and R15, next we expect the Japanese brand to launch R3 BS6 in India. After that, the company will be left with MT-15 and FZ25 twins for BS6 up-gradation. We expect some kind of price hike in the MT-15 and FZ25 bikes. However, FZ25 might not see a loss of power as its 250cc air-cooled engine already develops 20bhp which is lower than the competition.
