Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 is based on KTM 200 Duke and will carry a premium over the Duke

Husqvarna which recently showcased 250cc variants of Svartpilen and Vitpilen for India has now revealed the production version of same motorcycles but will smaller 200cc engines. Yes, in due course of time, Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 will also be launched in the Indian market.

At present, the 200 Duke is priced at Rs 1.62 lakh ex-showroom for the BS4 variant. The BS6 variant will cross the Rs 1.70 lakh mark and hence, we can expect the BS6 Husqvarna 200cc bikes will carry a price tag starting from Rs 1.75 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh mark. The 200cc Husqvarna will be launched only after the deliveries of Swartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 commence in India.

Powering the Husqvarna Svartpilen 200 is the same single-cylinder 200cc liquid-cooled engine doing the job on the Duke 200. This powerplant develops 25bhp and 19.2Nm torque. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox which will return performance comparable to the Duke 200.

This 200cc Husqvarna is suspended with front USD fork and rear monoshock. Tyres are fitted on 17-inch alloy wheels with 110 and 150 front and rear section tyres. Motorcycle’s frame is most probably lifted from the Duke 200 too. Braking department, on the other hand, is taken care of disc brake at both ends which is accompanied by a single-channel ABS.
