Ducati Diavel 1260 is launched in India in two variants, 1260 and 1260 S

Ducati Diavel 1260 launched in India for a price tag of Rs 17.70 lakh. Another variant called Diavel 1260 S has been priced at Rs 19.25 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Bookings for the newly launched bikes are now open at all the Ducati dealers in the country. The second generation of Diavel 1260 is a fierce combination of a super naked, supersport as well as a Cruiser.

It became a motorcycle responsible for giving a new definition to power cruisers and created a cult following amongst young motorcycle enthusiasts for its devilish looks and superbike level performance. The new Diavel 1260 is a step above its predecessor, promising the personalities of a naked roadster and a power cruiser, making it a “Mega Monster”. The Diavel has been one of the most loved power cruisers in India and was one of our most popular models and we are confident that the new Diavel 1260 will be loved and celebrated by the rider community.”

Powering the new Diavel 1260 and 1260 S is a 1262cc Testastretta DVT engine. This powerplant generates 159bhp at 9500rpm and massive 129 Newton Meters of twisting force. The torque curve is strong with the word go and the bike pulls steadily from the low rpm range. Valve Timing technology which is used in the engine, ensure proper power delivery at all rpm range. Hence, the engine is extremely smooth at low rpm and assertively sporty at the top end.

Everything is held together with the help of a tubular steel trellis frame and a super-light single-sided aluminum swingarm. A 50 mm adjustable USD forks and monoshock at the rear does the job of shock absorption. The devil rides on 120 section front tyre and extra-wide 240 section rear one. Braking department is taken care of by 320 mm twin discs at the front end gripped by radially mounted Brembo monoblock calipers with 4-piston calipers and at the rear end, a single 265 mm disc works wonders with 2-piston calipers.

Ducati Diavel 1260 gets a versatile electronics package which includes Bosch Cornering ABS along with normal ABS, Ducati traction Control Evo, Ducati Wheelie control Evo, Ducati Power launch Evo and Cruise control. There is a 6-axis IMU which assists many of these electronics in the bike. A new Ducati Link App is also available so that a rider can easily connect and access the riding modes as well as other parameters.

Diavel 1260 S gets fully adjustable Ohlins suspension at both ends, lighter wheels and higher-performance braking system. There is Ducati Quick Shifter in the S variant which comes as standard.

2019 Ducati Diavel 1260 tips the scale at 244 kg and the seat height is accessible 780 mm. The beast of a motorcycle is available in only one colour option – Sandstone Grey with a black frame. The S version, on the other hand, has Thrilling Black & Dark Stealth (motorcycle surfaces feature two contrasting blacks with different finishes, with red frame) and Sandstone Grey (with black frame).
