KTM Duke is a Powerful Value for Money Motorcycle which makes 43.5 bhp and does 0 to 100 kmph in 6 seconds. However, the older Duke 390 did the job in 5.6 seconds as it was light and had shorter gearing. CB300R, on the other hand, makes 31 bhp which is a whole 12 bhp lower than that of Duke 390’s number. Prospective buyers are in trouble whether the bike will be of any mettle? Though the CB300R is not yet launched in India but is already on sale in the US. Here is a video which shows the acceleration prowess of 300 cc Neo Sports Cafe motorcycle.

The video has two 0 to 100 timings, one is achieved in 6.20 seconds and the other one takes 6.65 seconds. The youtuber claims that the bike is completely stock. In the first gear, the bike does around 50 kmph whether 2nd takes the bike to 80 kmph. The third gear does the job and takes the bike all the way to 102 kmph and time taken is 6.20 seconds. The other part of the video is shot on a level road and here the time took for the bike to hit 100 is 6.65 seconds.

When we talk about the top speed, this video let us know that Honda can achieve a speedo indicated top speed of 155 kmph despite dealing with a strong headwind. A lighter rider with no wind or tail-wind can touch 160 kmph mark. The 6th gear is slotted at 142 kmph and rest is all about the engine power, aerodynamics, road gradient and wind which decides the top speed of a bike.

No doubt Honda CB300R is slower than KTM Duke 390 like a lot of bikes are such as Kawasaki Ninja 300, Royal Enfield 650 twins and a lot more but still, people buy them. A motorcycle is more than just the specifications on paper. Consider this, a Royal Enfield Classic 350 which costs 1.47lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) sells more than better equipped Bajaj Dominar 400. A motorcycle is about the feeling you get while riding them, if you are confused, take a thorough test ride and then decide whether it suits you or not.
