So, why spend this Diwali without a bomber of a motorcycle for here is our pick of the best machines you can get your hands on this festive season.
Royal Enfield Interceptor 650
Yeah, you are thinking this is not a superbike but guys this 650cc twin-cylinder classic looking motorcycle is available at a super cheap price tag. With a price tag of Rs 2.56 lakh ex-showroom for the single tone color, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is the cheapest twin-cylinder bike available in the Indian market.
This could be your companion this Diwali as it got what it takes to put you aside from the crowd. Its 648cc parallel twin pumps out healthy 47bhp and 52Nm torque which is by far the highest numbers in its price range. Interceptor 650 can take on highways like any higher capacity superbikes for that matter.
Honda CBR 650R
Honda is known for ultra-reliable motorcycles, but think how far can you travel on a sports tourer motorcycle from the house of Honda. The Japanese company has launched a full faired middleweight sports tourer in India, the Honda CBR 650R. This inline 4 cylinder motorcycle replaced CBR 650F in the Indian market
Priced at decent Rs 7.70 lakh ex-showroom, the CBR 650R is available through Honda’s Big Wing superbike dealerships across the country. To make things clear, there are only 22 such dealers spread all over the country as of now. CBR 650R commands a bit more committed riding position than its previous cousin the 650F. The power now stands at 95bhp up from 87bhp of the F which is a good thing for the highways, you know.
KTM 790 Duke
Indian motorcycle industry took a bombshell from the Austrian manufacturer in the form of an all-new KTM 790 Duke. The flagship model of the company is priced at Rs 8.64 lakh ex-showroom which has positioned the bike in a sweet spot. The most interesting part of the 790 Duke is its top-notch electronics suite.
Rivals of the flagship KTM don’t offer electronic aids as much as the Duke offers this makes a huge difference when you wide open that ride-by-wire throttle. With this scalpel, you can trace a fine line on the race tracks as well as on the streets. Give me one reason why you should overlook the KTM 790 Duke over to its rivals?
Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R
Speaking about a middleweight track bike, Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R it is. No arguments here as it is the only 600cc supersport available in the Indian market at such a low price point. Not to forget it is an in-line 4 cylinder bike and you have guessed the engine’s howling. Right?
The Kawasaki Ninja ZZX6R is priced at just Rs 11 lakh ex-showroom which is about Rs 3 lakh less than the ZX10R. You can also look for the 1000cc bike but this one will be more fun as you can completely open the throttle even in the 6th gear which you certainly cannot do on the ZX10R.
BMW S 1000RR
If you are planning for a liter-class superbike, this is the one you should look at. The new 2019 version of BMW S1000RR which looks and feels like a 600cc bike but when unleashes all its 200 horses, you’ll need a lot of caffeine to keep up with it. BMW has its own lineage when it comes to the supersporting and S1000RR is always a pointer for that.
Not much but priced from Rs 18.50 lakh ex-showroom, this superbike is a complete CBU unit, hence the price. There are two more variants of the bike both of which are priced above Rs 20 lakh mark. Hmm, there is another monster lurking around it, the Ninja ZX14R, do take note.
Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro
Till now it was just about the street naked, sports tourers as well as supersport. But what if you don’t like any of those, yeah, the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro is just what you are looking for. The super adventure motorcycle carries a hefty price tag of Rs 19.99 lakh ex-showroom but it is made to provide you that value.
Comes with spoked wheels for those heavy off-road rounds, various options for luggage, comfortable seats, Bluetooth connectivity and god know whatnot. Not only this, you have another option which goes by the nametag of GS and sport a boxer engine, ringing any bells? Get any of these and believe me you won’t regret if you can deal with their weight. He he.
MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR Pirelli
What about a Dragster? Here we have one option for you, the mighty and the monstrous MV Agusta Dragster 800 RR Pirelli. This exotic also comes with Italian flavor and the best part, it has spoke wheels and Pirelli rubber which sticks like a leech. What we love on Dragster is the water droplet LED headlamp, yellow-painted exposed trellis fram and that blacked-out exhaust, each cylinder gets its unique trumpet.
The in-line 3 cylinder blast out 140 horses and 87Nm twisting force which is more than sufficient to shoot this Italian beauty like a missile. It is the most pricey deal on this list at Rs 21.50 lakh but you can also opt for the base variant which is sensibly priced at Rs 18.73 lakh ex-showroom.
