New Burgman Street Matte Black edition is here to celebrate one year of the scooter in the country

Suzuki Burgman Street with matte black color launched at a price tag of Rs 69,208 ex-showroom. This new color option is Suzuki’s way of celebrating one year of Burgman Street in the Indian market. Launched in the month of July 2018, the scooter is achieving steady sales figure of about 6000 units per month.

With the addition of matte black color option, the total no of colors are now four including Matte Grey, Pearl Mirage White, and Glass Sparkle Black. The anniversary matte black option also retails for the same price as that of other colors, ie, at Rs 69,208 ex-showroom.

Commenting on the anniversary special, Devashish Handa, Vice President, SMIPL, said. “Building on its existing popularity, we have introduced the Matte Black color edition of Burgman Street that augments its style quotient and gives an unmatched road presence with a sportier and bold look. Suzuki Burgman Street has created a special place in the 125cc scooter segment in India by offering its unique value proposition and international big scooter heritage. Redefining luxury riding with comfort and style, Burgman Street continues to be the ultimate urban scooter, offering a captivating ride to the customers.”

The Maxi-scooter offers a wide range of features such as full LED headlight set up, fully-digital instrument cluster, Glovebox, and USB charging port. There is a smoked visor at the front end which enhances the overall visual appeal of the scooter. Burgman Street is one of the largest looking scooters in the Indian market as of now.

Powering the Burgman is a 125cc air-cooled engine with a 2-valve head. This motor is good enough for 8.6bhp at 7000rpm and 10.2Nm of twisting force comes up at 5000rpm. As usual, the scooter is mated to a CVT transmission. It has a fuel tank of 5.6 liters which will give you a decent range of about 220-240 km in a full tank of fuel. This scooter is surprisingly lightweight at 108 kg despite the size.

Front suspension is taken care of by telescopic forks and at the rear end is a spring-loaded hydraulic damper. Braking department sport front disc brake and rear drum brake. The front disc brake with CBS and alloy wheels are standard package.

There are some reports which suggest that Suzuki is working on a bigger capacity Burgman Scooter for the Indian market. Recently the company launched a MotoGP edition of its Gixxer SF sports bike. You can expect the same treatment to the bigger brother SF250 also in the month of August 2019.
