KTM 790 Duke super naked bike to land on Indian roads on 23rd September 2019, bookings are already open
Austrian bike manufacturer, KTM to launch its next product on the 23rd September 2019. The bookings for the middleweight bike is already open for a token amount of Rs 30,000 in all the major KTM showrooms across the country. Expected price of the Duke 790 is Rs 8.5 lakh ex-showroom which will make it one of the most expensive yet loaded naked bike in the Indian market.
The reason why a ‘KTM’ is priced so high in India is that 790 Duke is brought to India via the CKD route. Assembly of the bike is being done in the Kawasaki Assembly line in Bajaj’s Akurdi plant in Maharashtra.
Powering the KTM 790 Duke is a 799cc LC8 engine which makes 103bhp and 87Nm torque. These numbers when compared to 169 kg of dry weight, will give you an exceptional performance on the road as well as on the track. There is a list of safety features such as cornering ABS and multi-level traction control with this bike.

The 790 Duke will the next addition to the KTM’s India lineup after RC 125 wa launched way back in June. A streetfighter was needed for the KTm to increase brand image in the middleweight segment where Kawasaki Z900 trumps the game. Another rival, Suzuki GSX S750 is priced relatively less at Rs 7.46 lakh when compared to the DUke’s expected pricing.
The strong brand presence of KTM in the premium segment can help the company to sell all its alloted units for India. There are just 150 units which allotted for sale in the country with BS4 engine as only 6 months are left for BS6 norms to kick in. KTM says that BS6 version can be launched in India if all the bikes are sold before April 2020.
