BMW Motorrad got something to do this after this festive season as the company received more than 600 bookings for their 310cc offerings. At present, BMW sells two motorcycles with 310cc engine – G 310 R and G 310 GS.

As you all know, the G 310R is a naked motorcycle which is priced at a staggering Rs 2.99 lakh ex-showroom. The adventure tourer G 310 GS is priced even higher at Rs 3.49 lakh ex-showroom. BMW currently has about 23 dealers in 16 major cities across the country. The company is looking forward to increasing its brand presence even in other cities. Expect more BMW dealerships within a period of the next two-three years.

BMW was running campaigns for the festive season in which one can buy the bikes without paying any downpayment as well as easy monthly instalments were provided at a lower rate of interest. Another reason is obviously the auspicious buying time throughout the season.

Since the launch of these bikes, BMW hasn’t offered any updates apart from new colour options. However, BMW will obviously launch the BS6 version of both the bikes by April 2020 to comply with the new emission norms. What we need in both the bikes is a new LED headlight at least.

The reason BMW G 310 R doesn’t sell in significant numbers is due to its higher pricing. And at that price tag, we Indians right now have a lot of options to consider. The best option under Rs 3 lakh includes Kawasaki Ninja 300, Royal Enfield 650 twins as well as KTM 390 Duke. The G 310 GS will fee the heat from the upcoming KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle which is going to launch in IBW in December.
