British bike maker Triumph has launched another classic twin Speen Twin in India. Triumph Speed Twin price in India is Rs 9.46 lakh ex-showroom pan India. The bike is a stripped down version of Thruxton R 1200 which is priced in India at Rs 12.15 lakh ex-showroom.
Powering the 2019 Speed Twin motorcycle is the same 1200cc engine which works wonder on the Thruxton R. Triumph has made a slew of changes such as the addition of lighter materials to reduce the weight of the bike. That said, the motor itself is lighter by 2.5 kilos than the one on Thruxton. Exact changes are lower weight engine covers, a lighter new clutch assembly, and magnesium alloy cam covers.
Triumph Speed Twin Price is spot-on in Bonneville family
The Powerplant churns out good 96 bhp at 6750 rpm and 112 Nm twisting force at 4950 rpm. The motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox which is also the same as in Thruxton. Around 100 Nm of torque is at your disposal right from 2000 rpm which comes handy while riding on the bustling city streets. The dry weight of Speed Twin is 196 kg which makes is 10 kg lighter than Thruxton.
In place of the instrument cluster, there is no flashy TFT display but a classic looking twin-pod console. On the left side, we have an analog speedometer and on the right, a tachometer. All those numbers are displayed on the small LCD displays on each pod.

There are three ride modes – City, Sports, and Rain. The Speed Twin comes with rider aids like ride-by-wire, switchable traction control, antilock braking system. There are two 305 mm rotors gripped by 4-piston Brembo calipers. At the rear is a 220 mm disc with single-piston Nissin caliper.
At one end, Thruxton R is equipped with USD forks, Speed Twin comes with 120 mm travel 41 mm Telescopic forks up front. The rear end is taken care of by twin spring suspension with 120 mm travel. The Speed Twin is a performance-oriented British Twin motorcycle. Even in the Bonneville family, the bike has its own sweet spot.
2019 Triumph Speed Twin price is far more when you look at Suzuki and Kawasaki
2019 Triumph Speed Twin price in India is Rs 9.46 lakh ex-showroom. This is 1.8 lakh more than the more powerful Kawasaki Z900 and exactly 2 lakh more than Suzuki GSX S750. Both these bikes are inline-4 and make 113 and 123 bhp respectively. There is Ducati Monster 821 for Rs 9.56 lakh which will make for a great comparison.
