Benelli TRK 502 and 502X Adventure motorcycles to launch in the country under Rs 6 Lakh ex-showroom
Much awaited Benelli TRK 502 is scheduled to launch in India on 18th February 2019. The Italian company will launch the brand in two variants – TRK 502 and TRK 502X. The TRK 502 is made for touring on the roads whereas TRK 502X is more focused on off-roading.
Benelli TRK 502 is powered by a 499 cc in-line 2 cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The engine gets 4-valves per cylinder with DOHC setup. Powerplant churns out 47.6 bhp @8500 rpm and 45 Nm of twisting force at 5000 rpm and is coupled to a 6-speed gearbox.

Both Benelli TRK 502 and 502X get a 50 mm USD fork at the front with a wheel travel of 145 mm while the rear suspension duties are taken care of by a Monoshock with Hydraulic Damper and spring preload adjuster. The Braking responsibility, on the other hand, has been given to the dual 320 mm Discs at the front with 4-piston caliper while the rear gets a single 260 mm Disc with 2-piston caliper. Dual Channel ABS is standard on both the adventure bikes.

Being a tourer, both the wheels of Benelli TRK 502 are 17-inch in diameter. The front wheel gets a 120/70-ZR17 Pirelli Angel Dual Purpose tyre whereas the rear tyre is 160/60-ZR17 Pirelli Dual Purpose. The off-road focusing TRK 502X get spoked wheels with the front being a 19-inch and the rear one is 17-inch in diameter. Front tyre is 110/80-R19 while the rear one is 150/70-R17 cross-section. The tyre of choice for 502X is Metzeler for world-class off-roading performance.

Benelli TRK 502 has a seat height of 815 mm and ground clearance being 190 mm whereas off-roader 502X takes pride in high 840 seat height with 220 mm ground clearance. There is no doubt, 502X will perform exceptionally well in off-road conditions. 502 tips the scale at 225 Kg while 502X is heavier at 235 Kg. Fuel Tank capacity on both the bikes is 20 liters which will prove to be tourer friendly. One can expect a range of around 500 Km in one tankful.

Available in both the bikes is a tall windscreen to protect the rider from windblast at high speed. The road-going variant of the bike gets an underbelly exhaust system whereas the Off-roader gets a right side mounted exhaust. Internationally, Benelli offers a long list of accessories, thus we can expect some of them in India upon launch. The expected price tag for these motorcycles is Rs 6 Lakh ex-showroom.
