Suzuki V-Strom 650 on and off-road variants are expected to launch in India sometime next month.
Suzuki V-Strom 650 is one of the most awaited motorcycles in India and the adventure tourer is now open for booking at an amount of Rs 50,000. Expected launch of the on and off-road variants of Suzuki V-Strom 650 is in September 2018. Once launched, the bike could be priced at a range of Rs 7-8 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon arrival, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 will lock horns with Kawasaki Versys 650.
Speaking about the design, the Suzuki V-Strom 650 takes design inspiration from its bigger siblings. The aggressive looking adventure tourer gets a beak like front cowl with round shaped strong headlamp positioned on top and there is a tall fly-screen as well. An analog-digital combo instrument cluster, wide handlebars, muscular and chunky looking fuel tanks, lower positioned ergonomically designed rider seat, slightly stepped up pillion, a crafted grab rail cum luggage rack is there as well.
The off-road variant gets a thick skid plate at the bottom protecting the engine block from scratches. The bike runs on multi-spoke wheels wrapped with dual-purpose tyres. While the front wheel will be a 19-inch one, rear will get a 17-inch wheel. The exhaust muzzle comes higher positioned emphasizing on its off-roading character. The off-road focused V-Strom 650 XT will get special Bridgestone tyres and it will be 3kg heavier than the standard version, as there will be some additional accessories. The XT variant will be special suspension as well.
Speaking about power source of the Suzuki V-Strom 650, the bike will get a 650cc liquid-cooled V-twin engine. Power and torque output of the India-spec model is yet to be disclosed by the Japanese brand, but expect the bike to generate enough power to perform the duty it has been designed for. For braking duty, the bike will sport dual front disc brakes and a single rear disc brake combined with dual-channel ABS.
