KTM 390 Adventure motorcycle to launch in India after its Global debut in EICMA 2019 in November
The Austrian automaker, KTM is currently busy in testing its upcoming ADventure motorcycle called 390 Adventure in India. This same bike has been the most awaited bike in the country as of now. However, the company has not clarified about when they will launch the adventure bike in India. On the other hand, there is news circulating on the internet that KTM is now working on the 250cc Adventure motorcycle for the Indian market.
The price of KTM 390 Adventure will climb to about Rs 2.7 lakh ex-showroom plus the cost of touring accessories. The company will not have anything to offer at a cheaper price, so there comes the idea of KTM 250 Duke derived Adventure motorcycle. Price of Duke 250 is Rs 1.95 lakh ex-showroom so one can expect the KTM 250 Adventure to carry a price tag of around Rs 2.2 lakh ex-showroom. Thus a 250cc adventure bike from the house of KTM will be around Rs 50,000 cheaper than its elder brother.

Speaking about the style, the 250 Adventure will carry a similar design as that of 390 Adventure. Very much like Duke 250 and 390’s design which is almost similar, save for the headlight and instrument cluster. The difference in these two entry-level adventure bikes will be headlights, instrument cluster, and stock tyres. The 390 will feature full LED headlights, full-color TFT display, dual-purpose continental tyres, etc. While on the other hand, the 250c Adventure will have basic halogen headlamp, basic Duke 250 derived meter as well as Ceat dual-purpose tyres.
Powering the KTM 250 Adventure will be same single-cylinder, 248cc liquid-cooled engine from Duke 250. This powerplant churns out 30bhp and 24Nm torque which are best in the segment. We believe that KTM will tune the engine in such a way that it suits highways and uneven terrains. The engine will be mated to a 6-speed gearbox which also does duty in Duke 250.
The launch of 250 Adventure will most probably happen after the 390 Adventure is made available. Or it is possible that the test mules which we were entertaining could be 250 Adventure all together. One more possibility is that KTM will launch both the bikes together in the Indian market.
