Kawasaki Ninja 1000 is a sports tourer motorcycle which is priced at Rs 10.29 lakh ex-showroom

To keep the momentum going on in the heavyweight motorcycle segment, Kawasaki has launched new color variant on Ninja 1000. This new color option is called Metallic Matte Fusion Silver. The color scheme will have a limited production run of just 60 units. This means the color will go out of sale in 2-3 months. The interesting part is that the pricing is left untouched at Rs 10.29 lakh ex-showroom.

In the Indian market, there are two more color options on the Ninja 1000. They are Candy Lime Green and Metallic Spark Black which will remain on sale as usual. Speaking about the new Silver finish, it does make the bike stand out from the crowd.

There are no mechanical changes observed on the bike, powering Ninja 1000 is same old 1043cc in-line 4 cylinder engine. This motor makes healthy 142bhp at 10,000rpm and buffeting 111Nm of twisting force which peaks at 7300rpm. All that power is transferred to the rear tyre via a slip and assist clutch and 6-speed gearbox.

Speaking about the electronic aids, Ninja 1000 comes loaded with state-of-the-art technologies like Kawasaki Traction Control with three levels, two switchable power level selector, Kawasaki Cornering Management Function as well as Kawasaki Anti-lock Braking System.

Before the starting on this financial year, Ninja 1000 was priced at Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom. Later the price was hiked by Rs 30,000 due to the increasing input costs and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates. Even at this price, Kawasaki Ninja 1000 does not have a direct rival. The sports tourer motorcycle’s closest competitors are Ducati SuperSport (Rs 13 lakh) and Honda CBR 650R (Rs 7.70 lakh).
