IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt comes to the western coast.

IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt started its 2019 journey from the west coast in Pune. The Honda Talent Hunt identified racing talents in the East, South and Northern region of the country. And now they are in Pune, a city of enthusiasts.

The IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Hunt is Japanese Manufacturer’s initiative through which they are searching for young racing talents starting from the age of 13 years. Honda two-wheelers India, through this initiative, will groom the best young racers, this time from the City of Pune, for a career in racing which will span not in the country but also in internationally acclaimed championships.

Previously, Honda conducted five rounds in India – Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Aizwal, and Delhi. And now the sixth round in Pune witnessed the participation of 13 young riders with youngest being only 13 years of age.

The candidates had to go through 3 levels of tests –

  • First being their physical fitness
  • Second their race orientation and riding skills especially for the race track.
  • The final level was a Jury interview wherein the candidates and their guardians were interviewed. The interview was to understand both their motorsport passion and family support to making this a career.

Representing the jury were –

  • Mr. Prabhu Nagaraj – Vice President, Brand & Communication, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India,
  • Mr. Chandan Burdak – Division Head, Motorsports, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India
  • Mr. Ramji Govindarajan, Director- Ten10 Racing.

Honda India is giving an opportunity to the aspiring racers of India

The top of the line candidates of the Talent Hunt of Pune, after getting shortlisted in phase 1, will be given training at Honda Ten10 Racing Academy and then an opportunity awaits for them to ride on the track in Phase II. Honda will pick up the best riders from this pool for their future ventures in racing.

Furthermore, all the amateur riders will be nurtured through a state-of-the-art 360-degree training process which will focus on their physical fitness, mental strength, and stamina, over and above experts working on their race craft. These final riders will then make up the 12 selected riders to race in the Honda Talent Cup CBR 150R category in the 2019 season.

Committed towards developing an iconic India rider, our talent hunt stars Mikail bagged the 1st spot and Kritik Habib the 3rd spot at the IDEMITSU Honda Talent Cup 2018 season. We are delighted to see the passion among these young riders in this round in Pune. I am confident that these budding riders will change the scenario of motorsports in India. And will make the nation proud at the international podiums as well.”
