Harley Davidson riding academy to be available in every dealer across the country
Iconic American motorcycle manufacturer, Harley-Davidson, launched its Riding Academy program in India during the event of India Bike Week 2019. This particular program has been designed to establish rider training programs for Harley-Davidson dealerships across its markets.
The riding academy program is focused on improving customer’s skills in order to make them confident enough to operate any large capacity motorcycle. This program is not only available for existing riders but also for new customers too. That said, Harley Davidson has concluded its first Riding Academy session in Mumbai on December 14th, 2019.
Harley Davidson Riding Academy (HRDA) is a worldwide program that has been designed on the basis of decades of understanding the riding behaviour. For the Indian market, the company has 4 expert riding coaches who have been trained by Master Coach Mike Loydall. Mike has over three decades of experience in riding coach field.
The very first Riding Academy session in India was conducted at CIDCO exhibition centre, Navi Mumbai and was attended by a group of 30 students (customers). The training modules were comprised of theory lessons of Motorcycle Controls, Controlled Braking, and Slow Speed Control among others as well as a variety of drills that were repeated multiple times.

These sessions will be replicated in all the Harley-Davidson dealerships in the country over the next few months.
Sajeev Rajasekharan, MD of Harley-Davidson India, said that Harley Davidson is the market leader in the large capacity motorcycle segment, which is why it is the company’s responsibility to promote a culture of safe riding with heavy motorcycles.
With this initiative, the Indian arm of American brand hopes to create a large pool of skilled riders who are confident about their motorcycles. The company is excited that this opportunity is now in India and riders who previously didn’t, will now get a platform to be trained under expert coaches.
