2017 Tokyo Motor Show: While EICMA has to be the largest platform for bicycle makers, the Tokyo Motor Show has its fair share of advanced and fascinating concept bicycles. And this year’s Tokyo Motor Show was different. We pick five concept cycles shown at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show out –
Honda Neo Sports Cafe
The Honda Neo Sports Cafe is a bike, featuring a mix of modern technology and old-school styling. Getting on the contemporary classic bandwagon, the NSC gets single-sided swingarm, minimalistic rear, a sleek body and a gas tank which give it a sporty appeal. Modern touches include LED lamps and TFT tool console. The NSC notion is expected to finally take the form of the CB1000R.
Honda Riding Assist e
Honda is looking at revolutionizing motorcycles an electric motorcycle, with the Riding Assist-e. A technology derived from the ASIMO robot, its position is constantly assessed by the Riding Assist-e and moves the steering bar to ensure that it stays upright, even without a rider on board. Honda claims that the technology can be utilized in big in addition to small bikes. The safety net is guaranteed to encourage individuals to take up motorcycling.
Honda CBR250RR Custom Concept
The Honda CBR250RR Custom Concept is much more than only a glitzy CBR250RR. It will get an exclusive white paint scheme with red accents, however, there are a few upgrades too. The front forks get an adjustable rear shock and Marowaki master cylinder. The quarter-liter engine works out via an Akrapovic exhaust, whereas the rear mudguard is made from carbon fiber.
Yamaha Motoroid
While Honda showcased a motorcycle, Yamaha showcased a motorcycle which uses artificial intelligence to interact with the rider and went a step farther. While it will get rider controls and handlebars, the Yamaha Motoroid is an autonomous motorcycle capable of chauffeuring the rider to the destination. Additionally, it may be summoned from the parking lot from the rider (no, we do not think that it would respond to whistles). And of course, it gets an electric powertrain.
Yamaha MWC-4
The MWC-4 is not exactly a motorcycle, for it has four wheels. But it can lean in the corner just like a motorcycle. Yamaha calls MWC-4 a quadracycle, and claims that it can provide a degree of ride quality that cannot be achieved in a motorcycle. At its core is a hybrid powertrain, using an engine powering two electric motors. The ambiguity aside, the Yamaha MWC-4 is as offbeat as a theory can get.
