Jawa Motorcycles launch Jawa and Jawa Forty Two in India at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh respectively

Jawa Motorcycles launch in India finally. They made a grand comeback after a long wait. The iconic Czech brand has launched two motorcycles in the country, Jawa and Jawa Forty Two at Rs 1.64 lakh and Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively. Also, there will be a third model in the portfolio, the Jawa Perak. However, that will be launched at a later date. While the Jawa comes as a typical retro with a cue from the original iconic model, the Forty Two is a toned and aggressive version of the classic motorcycle.

Both the Jawa and Jawa Forty Two share same 293cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine, built from scratch. Coupled with a 6-speed constant mesh gearbox, this engine is capable of churning out 27 bhp of peak power and 28 Nm of peak torque. The Jawa comes available in three different colour options – Maroon, Grey and Black. On the other hand, the Jawa Forty Two comes available in six different colour options.

Weighing 170 kg, both the motorcycles carry a 14-litre capacity fuel tank. Based on a double cradle chassis, these two motorcycles run on an 18-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel. Suspension duty is done by telescopic hydraulic forks at the front and twin hydraulic shock absorbers at back. 280mm front disc brake with floating calliper combined with ABS and 153mm drum unit will be performing the braking duty in these motorcycles.

The motorcycles have been designed in a manner that will invoke the memory of the original Jawa models with the timeless touch. Even the engine block has been designed keeping the original model in mind. With the booking open from now, the motorcycles are expected to fetch significant attention. Both the models are likely to be popular among the buyers.
