2018 Upcoming Bajaj Bikes in India: Bajaj Avenger 400 and RS400

Bajaj is one of the leading brands in India, in fact across the world. The company has disclosed two models which are supposed to be launched around December 2018. These are larger versions of Pulsar RS and Avenger 200 in their 400cc avatars. These will be ideal for attracting the new generation of youngsters.

Bajaj Avenger 400

In Bajaj Avenger 400, a slight modification has to be done in the frame to accommodate the bigger engine. Due to the versatile nature of the bike market, there will be a new trend every 6 month, which has to be considered by manufacturers. Nowadays youngsters are leaning towards the cruiser bike category. Keeping these views in mind designers have done a lot of manipulations to the design and come up with advanced features and technology for these new machines.

In terms of looks new Bajaj Avenger 400 is designed to look bigger and classier. The length and width will be more elongated than the current version of Avenger. A single cylinder 373cc engine will generate 35-38bhp along with torque figures in the range of 32-34Nm. The bike will get a classic round headlamp followed by a cowl which gives a sporty look to the cruiser. Speedometer will be moved to the tank and along with multiple digital displays.

Bajaj Avenger 400

A dual-channel ABS will help avoid skidding off in slippery conditions, be it rain or slush. The suspension setup remains the same as earlier, but the wider seat and tyre will add more comfort. A larger windscreen will reduce wind blast at speed allowing you to spend longer times in the saddle. Expect fuel efficiency to range near 30-35kpl depend on the rider and conditions.

Bajaj Pulsar RS400

The overall design of the Pulsar RS400 will be carried from its younger brother, which is aggressive and very sporty. The twin projector headlamps and LED eyebrows flow through the huge fuel tank which gives the macho appearance to the bike. Newer colours will be introduced to enhance the appearance of the RS400. It will be equipped with an analogue tachometer and digital speedometer along with a small screen displaying more relevant data.

The new power plant for RS400 is a 373.2cc single producing 40-42bhp and 33-35Nm of torque. The fuel injected engine is mated with a 6-speed constant mesh transmission. Triple spark ignition technology combusts the fuel efficiently which gives more power to the engine and reduces harmful fumes help to make eco-friendly for the environment. Pulsar RS400 is expected to hit the top speed of approximately 165kmph with fuel efficiency in the range of 22-25kmpl.

Front disc has been increased in size to 320mm in the RS400. Rear disc measures 230mm coupled with ABS braking system giving sure-footed braking. New alloy wheels will give a sporty appearance and wide tubeless tyres will reduce the risk of skidding under adverse climatic conditions and also maintain balance while cruising on highways. Its comfortable riding position and wide bars will make it hassle-free to ride around town making it a more attractive bike for the new age of riders.
