In order to strengthen its presence in performance motorcycle segment, Bajaj Auto is gearing up to launch premium bikes under the Husqvarna brand. Bajaj caught everyone off-guard by launching KTM bikes in India back in 2013. Considering its market knowledge, and timely launches, Husqvarna suppose to have a greater impact on the Indian market.

Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 motorcycles were spotted testing in and around Pune. These retro cum modern bikes have exposed black trellis frame and the design is minimal thus making the bike lighter overall. Both these bikes feature LED lights all around, sleek minimal design, full digital meter, lighter weight, a dual-channel ABS, dual-purpose tyres and much more.

Vitpilen 401 has a sports cafe racer design with lower set handlebars. Vitpilen is meant for outright performance and nothing else. Svartpilen 401 sports more of a scrambler like design language with a more comfortable upright sitting position. Both Husqvarna bikes will use KTM‘s 373 cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine. The high revving powerplant is good for 44 bhp @9000 rpm and 37 Nm twisting force at @7500 rpm. While all other cycle parts will be shared with KTM bikes, the design will remain true to Husqvarna’s legacy.

Huskies are priced more than KTM bikes in all the markets. It is safe to assume that Bajaj will price these motorcycles at a premium over the KTM bikes. Expected starting price could be anywhere between Rs 2.6 to 2.8 Lakh ex-showroom.

See, there are a lot of things to look at, but you are one hell of a person when your eyes are pulled towards beauty on two wheels. This guy here is one such animal who loves two wheels more than "Maa ke hath ka Khana." Not yet fully transformed into a seasoned rider but still, there are many things still "under construction." Akash is a writer, loves writing fiction but here at motorcycle diaries, its all about the world on two wheels.
