Aprilia Storm 125, the Sportiest Scooter to launch in April 2019

Aprilia Strom 125 will be the Sportiest Scooter from the Italian Brand in India

Aprilia Storm 125 was first showcased in 2018 Auto Expo. The scooter is actually a sportier version of Aprilia SR125. Storm 125 was on display with two attractive colors – Matte Red and Matt Yellow. The scooter gets smaller, knobby and scrambler like tyres.

Aprilia Storm 125 – Matt Red

Powering the Aprilia Storm 125 is the same 125 cc engine which does duty on SR 125 Scooter. The engine pumps out 9.5 bhp of power and 9.9 Nm twisting force. The engine is, as usual, single cylinder and will be forced air-cooled. Moreover, the tyres in Storm 125 are a smaller 12-inch unit but wrapped with fat and knobby 120/80 tyre at the front and 130/80 section rubber at the rear (We don’t actually have any idea why so fat rubber are employed for a puny engine). The display scooter had imported tyres but when the scooter will launch in India it will feature Indian made rubber in order to keep the cost low.

Aprilia Storm 125 was scheduled for launch in the first quarter of Calender year 2019 but there was a problem. Dealers across the country had a large stock of SR125 therefore, the launch of Aprilia Storm 125 has been postponed to April 2019. The bookings for the Storm 125 will start from 1st April 2019 and the deliveries will commence from the launch date itself.

The sports scooter will come equipped with Combined Braking System (CBS). When speaking about the price, The Aprilia Storm 125 will be priced below the SR 125 as the new scooter will feature 12-inch wheels and Indian made tyres. The Aprilia SR125 is priced at Rs 67,000 ex-showroom, New Delhi. One can remain hopeful to see the 150 cc variant of Storm in the near Future.

Akash Vashisth: See, there are a lot of things to look at, but you are one hell of a person when your eyes are pulled towards beauty on two wheels. This guy here is one such animal who loves two wheels more than "Maa ke hath ka Khana." Not yet fully transformed into a seasoned rider but still, there are many things still "under construction." Akash is a writer, loves writing fiction but here at motorcycle diaries, its all about the world on two wheels.
