New generation Indian Challenger for the year 2020 gets a new engine with more torque
The American classic motorcycle manufacturer Indian has unveiled its new motorcycle Challenger for 2020. Indian Challenger gets a new liquid-cooled V-twin engine. The new touring motorcycle gets three variants – Standard, Dark Horse, and Limited edition.
Indian Challenger derives its propulsion force from a new ‘Power Plus’ liquid-cooled 1769cc V-twin engine which pumps out 122bhp and massive 173.5Nm torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with true overdrive function. Challenger now officially has more torque than the Harley-Davidson’s 1800cc engine which pumps out 163Nm twisting force.
2020 Indian Challenger gets a hefty fairing at the front which might remind you of Harley-Davidson Road Glide Special. Speaking about the features, the Challenger gets a 100-watt music system with speakers finding their place on both sides of the fairing. Keyless entry also comes standard which is a feature found in cars.

The instrument cluster comprised of two large analogue dials accompanied with a 7-inch full-colour touchscreen display with Bluetooth connectivity. For comfortable touring, there is a cruise control system, riding modes, a powered adjustable windshield, and waterproof hard saddlebags.
In the US, the Challenger is priced at USD 22,000 which amounts to Rs 15.6 lakh ex-showroom in today’s exchange rate. However, the Indian Challenger will likely cost near Rs 25 lakh ex-showroom when launched in India sometime next year. It will rival with the touring range from the Harley-Davidson in India.
