2018 Yamaha R15 V3.0 – Racing Blue, Racing Yellow, Racing Black and a Yamaha Movistar livery
2018 Yamaha R15 V3.0: Yamaha has introduced four new paint schemes to its R15 in Indonesia. By comparison, we obtained the new R15 only a few months past, draped in Yamaha’s Racing Blue and Thunder Grey without a superior sunglasses available to keep prices in check.
All four colors in question get various sets of stickers. The best of this lot, in our view, is that the fourth choice – the MotoGP motivated Movistar livery.
The R15 V3.0 is now the most economical track-focused entry-level bike you’ll be able to get your hands on. It borrows design cues from the elder siblings using a muscle fuel tank, double all-LED headlights, LED taillight and also an aerodynamically designed fairing.
Both the black and Indian versions share the exact same 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine with Variable Valve Actuation, which generates 19.22PS in 10,000 rpm and 15Nm of torque in 8500rpm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Characteristics of the Indian version overlooks, when compared with Indonesian R15, comprise pre-assembled forks painted in aluminum, gold footpeg meeting, hazard lights and grippy Metzeler tyres as standard. All this excess hardware will come at a premium since the Indonesia-spec version is priced at IDR 35.2 million, which will be equal to Rs 1.60 lakh.
The India-spec R15 V3.0 is constructed around a delta box framework and features traditional telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the back. Braking duties are handled by disk brakes at both ends, but it overlooks ABS, even as an alternative. Its 17-inch wheels come shod in 100/80 and 140/70 segment clocked in front and back respectively. Moreover, the back can wheel may be shod in H-rated Metzeler Sportec M5 that’s provided as an attachment.
Even though there’s no word on if these colour schemes will be released in India, the newest colours available overseas do provide us with an indication of what’s to come in the not too distant future. The 2018 R15 V3.0 competes with all the Suzuki Gixxer SF as well as the Honda CBR 150 R from the Indian Industry.
